Gifting Panettone for the Holidays

As outlined in A Fun History of Panettone, this sweet bread delicacy has been a traditional seasonal staple in Italy for a long time, and has spread around the globe as well. While an enjoyable treat in any occasion at any time of the year, panettone’s tradition is strongly ingrained in Christmas. As yeast was considered a luxury item many centuries ago, it was in periods of religious festivity when the people would choose to share this treat with others.

Today, the traditions continue and panettone is one of the most circulated gifts in Italy during the Christmas holidays. Around the rest of world, it has become a very popular general holiday gift, an extremely popular corporate gift, and something of a “fashionable” gift between foodies always looking for the latest variety. Panettone in particular makes a great food gift as it has a long shelf life, allowing gifters to plan and purchase ahead of time. Considering how the appearance of a gift is also very important, you may notice on store shelves that panettone always comes in beautiful packaging in a wide variety of styles, sizes, and colors.

Speaking to our own panettone, here at Antise Vancouver we have gone to great lengths to design and procure a solid, sleek, and quality presentation for our packaging. We like to think the packaging is both classy and practical. Each box is sturdy with a nice large handle, and comes with its own specific card design indicating the variety of panettone inside (classic, cioccolato, limoncello). The image on the back of the box reminds of the hand-crafted love that went into making the product, and also symbolizes a gesture of giving.
